Location: Wysowa Zdroj lies at 520 m above sea level, on the river Ropa, in the Beskid Niski range, near Magura Malastowska Scenic Park. Surrounded by thick beech and mixed forests, it has an excellent microclimate. The artificial lake in Klimkowka, 320 hectares in area, is the local attraction. The nearby border crossing in Konieczna is a convenient point for trips around the border areas of Slovakia and Poland. Treatment facilities: sanatoriums and spa hospitals with 651 beds. Available therapy: physiotherapy centre, pump-room. Attractions and cultural events: It is a nice walk to the historical Old Spa House. The old Orthodox churches in the area are well worth seeing. Important events include Watra – a 3-day international festival of the unique Lemko (Rusnak) culture (July), Hucul Days – held at the stud farm in Gladyszow (September). Tourism and sports: tennis court and pool, ski-lifts, and marked biking routes. There are many hiking routes in the area, including the picturesque trail to the source of the mountain stream Szumniak. Water sports are available on the reservoir in Klimkowka. There are also good spots for angling. The Hucul Horse Farm in Gladyszow is another attraction.
