Bobrka

World’s oldest oil well

The village has a unique skansen - an open-air museum of the oil industry. Possibly the world’s first oil well was sank here in 1854. Well-preserved 19th century facilities include two old oil wells, drilling derricks and tools, hoisting machinery and wooden barracks.

One of the buildings contains a small oil industry museum with a collection of kerosene lamps.
