The Roztocze National Park occupies the most precious part of the gently undulating region, mostly covered with fir forest. Some specimens grow as high as 50 meters. The park flora has both lowland and highland species, including several varieties of orchids. The Polish horses tarpans have their habitat here. The parks varied landscape features ranges of chalk and limestone hills topped with sandy and loess soils. A complex of neoclassical buildings and a baroque church are located within the former game reserve Zwierzyniec.
