Cultural calendar

  • January is the month of Christmas carol concerts by Poznan’s choirs. The famous Poznan Nightingales choir performs carols in early January in the main hall of Adam Mickiewicz University. 
  • Concerts of the Poznan Musical Spring are organized every year in March. 
  • World Press Photo: the Polish premiere of this international photo exhibition is held in Poznan in May, only three weeks after the presentation of the contest prize-winners in Amsterdam. 
  • The Malta International Theatre Festival is held in June, with performers from all over the world. The traditional ¦wietojanski Fair takes
    place near the end of the month. 
  • From July to September, everyday at noon, and throughout the year on Saturday organ music concerts are given in the Baroque Parish Church. 
  • The Biennale of Modern Dance and Modern Dance Workshops are held in August. 
  • November 11, the feast day of St. Martin, is a celebration of the city’s patron saint: A parade is held along Sw. Marcin Street, and open-air events are held near the Castle. The delicacy of this day are special crescent rolls with delicious almond and poppy-seed filling.
