Lower Silesia

An expedition a vastle or a treasure hunt

Lower Silesia offers a wide range of tourist attractions. It takes just an hour and a half to reach the castle complex in Ksiaz. The castle, with more than 400 rooms, was built in the 13th century, and subsequent conversions only added to its splendor. The building is surrounded by terrace gardens.

It is also just a short way from Wroclaw to the charming Gothic castle on the water in Wojnowice, the only such castle in Europe.

Treasure seekers should go to Zlotoryja, where you can pan for gold in the Kaczawa River - One who tries, always finds goes an old Polish saying. The annual contest is held here in May.

For their beauty and stately appearance visitors admire the former residences of Silesian aristocratic families in Kraskow and Krobielowice located near Wroclaw.

The wooden Churches of Peace standing in Jawor and Swidnica are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Their ornate baroque interiors enchant visitors with the wealth of sculptures and paintings.
