Location: Cieplice lies in Jeleniogorska Valley at the foot of the Karkonosze Range, just 6 km from the centre of Jelenia Gora. As early as 1381, the city was the property of the Schaffgotsch family, who built balneological facilities together with the Cistercian monks. In the 17th century, the springs were surrounded by stone rotundas with treatment cubicles. Many famous people from across Europe came here for treatment, including the Polish Queen Marysienka Sobieska. It is one of the oldest spas.
